The Allahabad high court today stayed the land acquisition which was done by Uttar Pradesh government under “urgency claus”' in 2004 in sikandara thesil of Bulandshahr district. While hearing the writ petition of 63 affected farmers of this area the high court has asked the UP government and Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation( UPSIDC) to file their reply in four weeks. The farmers has told the court that about twenty acre (20 acre) land was acquired on paper in 2004 for the cholapur Industrial Area in sikandara thseil of Bulandshahr. But the state government and UP SIDC did not make any attempt to aquire this land and farmers have also been continuing their farming with paying due revenues to the government. The petitioner appealed to court since the government has acquired this land “on paper only ” and for last seven years the state agency didn’t do anything on this land, the land acquisition ordered should be abolished. Staying the land acquisition order The High court Bench comprising Justice Ashok Bhushan and Justice Ranvijay Singh asked the UP state industrial development corporation and UP government to file their reply in four weeks.
