Allahabad HC refers Noida land acquisition case to larger Bench

The Allahabad High Court on Tuesday referred the Land acquisition cases of Greater Noida and Noida to a larger bench of the High Court. After clubbing about 200 petitions from at least 13 villages of these areas including Noida Extension, the Bench comprising Justice Amitabh Lala and Justice A K Srivastava took a case of Patwari village today and passed this order. The order will be applicable to all the other cases. The Court has fixed 17th August for the next hearing of this case.While referring the case to a larger bench The Allahabad High Court has given an opportunity to parties concerned on land acquisition matters to settle amicably, if they can by the 12 August .The High Court bench said that the farmers, Development authorities of Greater Noida and Noida, and builders could renegotiate the compensation issues if they wish but at the same time the court has cleared that there should not be any kind of pressure on farmers.During the hearing of the Patwari village it was mentioned that on earlier two other occasions the bench of high court had allowed the acquisition notifications was also raised. Taking note of the serious and bigger issues the Bench comprising Justice Amitaabh Lala and Justice A. K. Srivastava referred all the cases of land acquisitions to the larger bench. The land acquisition tussle is not resolved yet but there is an opportunity for concerned parties to settle the case amicably. Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority says, it will launch fresh negotiations with farmers and is hopeful of getting their approval.
