The Allahabad High Court today quashed a summon issued by district court of Mahoba in Uttar Pradesh against Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in connection with his critical remarks against the Supreme Court decision for rejecting National Judicial appointment Commission (NJAC).<br/><br/>A single judge bench today quashed the summon issued by Kulpahar civil judge of Mahoba district court on 19th October. <br/><br/>The district court had taken suo- motto notice of media reports about Mr. Jaitley in which he criticized the Supreme Court decision on NJAC to set up by the union government for appointing judges. <br/><br/>The bench observed that since there were no case against the minister under IPC, therefore the district court judge has no right to take cognizance of criticism of Supreme Court order as the contempt of the court.
