The Allahabad High Court on Monday quashed the 170 hectare land acquisition of Gulistanpur village of greater Noida . About 170 hectare land was acquired in 2007-08 under planned industrial development of Greater Noida. The High Court bench comprising Justice Sunil Ambavani and justice K. N. Pandy quashed the land acquisition and ordered the Uttar Pradesh government to return the acquired land to the Gulistanpur farmers. The High Court bench said that there were no urgency in this planned industrial development case and land was acquired without taking views and objection from farmers. The High Court also gives opportunity to those farmers who had already received their compensation. The Judges said that the farmers may take back their land after returning the compensation amount. our Allahabad correspondent report that 58 farmers from Gulistanpaur of greater Noida have approached to Allahabad high Court against this acquisition. More than hundred farmers will be benefited from Monday’s order. The Greater Noida has become a boiling point on land acquisition issue after recent violence in Bhatta and parsaul villages in which four persons lost their lives.
