The Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court has ordered a CBI inquiry into the death of Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr. Y.S. Sachan in Lucknow district jail on 22nd of last month. Our correspondent reports that a division bench comprising justices Pradeep Kant and Ritu Raj Awasthi passed this order while hearing a PIL seeking a CBI probe into Sachan's death. The court also rejected the suggestion from Uttar Pradesh government to set up a Special Investigation Team for the probe. All major political parties including BSP have welcomed the High Court verdict.
