Allahabad High Court has issued notice to Uttar Pradesh government on the issue of deaths occurring in the state due to encephalitis. The court has asked the government to reply within three weeks. The court issued notice on a petition regarding inadequate facilities and lack of basic infrastructure and medication for the treatment of encephalitis patients in government hospitals.Meanwhile, the death toll due to encephalitis has mounted to 322 in eastern region this year as three more deaths occurred in BRD Medical College hospital in Gorakhpur on Thursday. As many as 319 patients are still undergoing treatment in the hospital.
