In Uttar Pradesh, the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court has given four week's time to the Chief Minister Ms. Mayawati and her Cabinet minister Naseemuddin Siddiqui for filing a counter affidavit on a Public Interest Litigations related to alleged the multi- crore Taj corridor scam case.<br/><br/>AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that three PILs have been filed challenging the Special CBI court's order dropping the proceedings against the two on June 5, 2007 following the refusal of the then Governor to grant prosecution sanction against both of them. It may be mentioned that the Supreme Court had recently rejected the Special Leave Petition filed by Ms. Mayawati seeking stay against proceeding of PILs. The apex court had directed her to approach the High Court.
