Allahabad HC differs land acquisition cases related to Greater Noida extension

The land acquisition cases related to Greater Noida extension area has been differed till 26th July. In the Roza -Yakubpur village of Greater Noida, about 608 hectare land was acquired by the UP state government authorities. About forty farmers had filed petitions against this acquisition and the judgement was due today for this case. Quoting High Court sources, AIR Allahabad correspondent reports that the High Court has said that beside Roza – Yakubpur and other such cases similar in nature, the court has decided to take up all such cases for hearing on 26th July, 2011.On Tuesday, the Allahabad High Court had quashed the UP Government notification to acquire 589 hectare land in Patwari Village in greater Noida extension which was later transferred to private builders.Including Tuesday’s decision, The Allahabad High Court had already quashed six acquisitions so far, since December 2009.Earlier, in May this year, the Allahabad High Court quashed acquisition of more than 156 hectare land in Sahberi village of Noida extension which was marked for residential township by the authorities and builders.Later the issue was reached to Supreme Court against the Allahabad High Court decision but the Supreme Court also upheld the High court verdict.
