Allahabad HC asks UP Govt. and NOIDA, Gr NOIDA authorities to file counter affidavits

The Allahabad High Court has asked the Uttar Pradesh Government and Noida and Greater Noida authorities to file their counter affidavit within 10 days on the land acquisition issue. While hearing the land acquisition case today, the larger Bench of the High Court has also given three days extra time to the affected petitioners to file their rejoinder. The 3-Judge larger Bench clarified that the Court will hear this case from the 12th of next month without any adjournment. The Bench said, they will take up the issue of Patwari village first on that day. The Court also clarified that the Chief Justice has constituted the Bench to hear the cases related to Noida and Greater Noida only, so the matters related to Yamuna Expressway will not be taken up by them. About 600 petitioners have challenged the state government's around 60 land acquisition notifications in the High Court.
