Allahabad Bank posts profit of Rs.514 cr during first quarter of present fiscal

The Nationalized Allahabad Bank has posted a net profit of 514 crore rupees during the first quarter of the present fiscal. Announcing the quartly results the Chairman and Managing Director of the bank Mr. J P Dua said in Kolkata today that the profit showed a growth of 23 percent comparing to the corresponding period of the last year. Mr. Dua informed that the total business of the bank has gone up to over 2 lakhs 67 thousands crore rupees while deposites have increased to more than 1 lakh 56 thousands crore rupees during the period. The Chairman said that the bank has planned to open another 250 branches, 1 thousand ATMs during the current fiscal besides a target of opening 25 lakhs new savings bank accounts.
