The Centre today said all the villages in the country will be electrified during the current year except few villages in naxal affected area. <br/><br/>Replying to supplementaries in the Lok Sabha, Power Minister Piyush Goyal said, out of 18,452 un-electrified villages in the country, out of which, 9,326 villages have been electrified during last 15 months. <br/><br/>He said electrification of the villages is a time bound programme and its implementation schedule has been drawn in consultation with the States. <br/><br/>Mr Goyal said 21 lakh 98 thousand 521 free electricity connections have been released during last two fiscals to below poverty line households in the country.
