All train services cancelled due Telengana strike

In Andhra Pradesh, almost all train services originating or passing through Telangana region have been cancelled since midnight due to the 48-hour long rail roko called by Telangana Joint Action Committee as part of the ongoing General Strike. The South Central railways have also diverted or partially cancelled hundreds of other train services including super fast and long distance train services passing through the region. The railway authorities have set up help lines for passenger information at 51 stations in the region with a central helpline at Hyderabad with phone number 040-27829999. Meanwhile, extending solidarity to the ongoing General Strike, most of the auto drivers unions in Hyderabad have began 48-hour long strike since on Friday midnight. On the other hand, the state Government has intensified its efforts to reduce the effect of the strike on common man and invited state transport department employees for talks on Saturday. Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy has also directed officials to pay salaries to the employees, who are attending duties during strike period, before the month end.
