The Chief Minister of Karnataka B S Yeddyurappa today announced that all the sites and industrial lands given to his family members from KIADB and BDA is being returned. The announcement was made by Yedyurappa in Hubli following allegations of nepotism and unfair distribution of denotified land. He also said that Government order is being issued to nominate a retired Supreme Court Judge to probe all land allotments by BDA and KIADB since 1994.Meanwhile, the Opposition has welcomed the probe but insisted upon resignation of Yeddyurappa. Former Prime Minister Deve Gowda whose tenure as Chief Minister is also included in the forthcoming probe, sought the resignation of Yeddyurappa for distributing Government land to his family members at below market rate, after overlooking existing norms. The State Party President Eeswarappa and Chief Minister Yeddyurappa are likely to participate in the Core Committee meeting to be held in New Delhi today evening.
