The government today said that all security arrangements are in place for the Commonwealth Games. Inaugurating the two-day International workshop on Sustainable Tourism Criteria for India, Minister of State for Tourism, Mr Sultan Ahmed said that the tourism sector has registered a growth of 8 per cent in June 2010 over June 2009. He expressed hope that the country will attract more tourists in the future especially during the Commonwealth Games. Emphasizing on the need to promote eco-tourism, he said that the development in this sector should be sustainable and inclusive.
