An All Party meeting on Women's Reservation Bill began in New Delhi a short while ago. The meeting has been convened by the leader of the Lok Sabha Mr. Pranab Mukherjee to break the impass over the issue. While the Bill providing for 33 per cent reservation for women in Lok Sabha and state assemblies was passed by the Rajya Sabha with an overwhelming majority, it could not be introduced in Lok Sabha due to the opposition of RJD, SP, and JDU.<br/><br/>Apart from Pranab Mukherjee, the Home Minister Mr. P. Chidambaram, the Defence Minister Mr. A.K. Antony, the Law Minister Mr. Veerappa Moily, the Railway Minister and Trinamool Congress leader Ms. Mamta Banerjee, the Leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha Mrs. Sushma Swaraj, Basudev Acharya of the CPIM, T.R. Balu of the DMK, Farooq Abdullah of the National conference as well as the RJD leader Mr. Lalu Prasad Yadav, The JDU leader Mr. Sharad Yadav, the SP leader Mr. Mulayam Singh Yadav are attending the meeting.<br/><br/>Ahead of the meeting Mr. Lalu Prasad said that there is no change in their stand on the issue.
