All party meeting on Lokpal issue begins

An all party meeting convened by the Government has begun at Prime Minister's residence this evening to find a way to solve the Lok Pal issue. Official sources said, government is of the view that some of the demands put forth by Hazare and his associates, require a wider political consensus before a decision could be taken.Ahead of the meeting, Law Minister Salman Khurshid on Wednesday said that there is some hope of finding a solution to sticky issues relating to the Lokpal Bill.He told reporters after a meeting with Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee that government is seriously concerned about Hazare's health and, hence, making efforts to find some way to ensure that the Gandhian's health remains fine.Mr.Khurshid said, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will seek the views of other parties at the all-party meeting about how to go forward on the issue. The minister said that the talks between the government and the civil society have taken place to resolve the Lok Pal issue. He added that the government is trying to work out the modalities for the dialogue.
