The all party meet convened by the Prime Minister to evolve consensus on the anti-graft Lokpal Bill is on in the national capital. The meeting is being held at the residence of Dr. Manmohan Singh. Senior leaders of major political parties including the Left parties and NDA are attending the brain storming session. The government is expected to present to the parties a comparative draft of the provisions of the Lokpal Bill suggested by the civil society and those put forward by the five union ministers in the Joint Drafting Committee.Ahead of the all party meeting, Congress Core Group also met to clear its perception on an effective anti-graft bill. The government has already assured that the opinions of all the stake holders will be taken into account before the draft bill is put before the cabinet for approval.The government has reiterated its commitment for tabling the Jan Lokpal Bill in the forthcoming monsoon session of the Parliament. Meanwhile, Civil society activist Anna Hazare yesterday met UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi to explain their stand on the anti-corruption Bill. Talking to media persons after the meeting, he said, proper draft of Lokpal Bill should go to Parliament and they will respect whatever Parliament decides.
