In Chhattisgarh, the all-party meeting to discuss the issues related to the abduction of the Sukma district Collector was held in the capital Raipur. The meeting which began on Monday evening was chaired by the Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh.
The State Government has said that it has kept all the options open to ensure the safe release of Mr. Menon. Stating this in Sukma on Monday, the Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes Welfare Minister, Kedar Kashyap who is also a member of the newly constituted Cabinet Sub-Committee on internal security, said that the Committee has been analysing all the information in this case as they trickle in, moment by moment. He also met the wife of the Collector, Mrs. Asha Paul Menon and assured her of all help in this matter.
Meanwhile the Centre today said it is in constant touch with the Chhattisgarh Government on the abduction of the Sukma Collector and providing all necessary help to resolve the crisis. Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, Home secretary R K Singh said whatever support is needed by the state administration is being given.
