The government today said it is making all out efforts for the Haj pilgrims facilitation in Saudi Araba. Replying to questions in the Rajya Sabha, External affairs minister S M Krishna said a secretary level officer of the ministry is in that country to oversee the arrangements. He informed the House that nearly 1 lakh 60 thousand pilgrims will be visiting to Saudi Arab for the Haj. Mr Krishna said accomodation for 80,000 people has already been booked . He said the quota allocated to Haj committee of India is distributed among various states on pro-rata basis according to the Muslim population of each state based on the 2001 census.
