All nuclear installations put on alert after a multi-state terror crackdown

The Central Industrial Security Force, CISF, has put all nuclear installations in the country on alert after a multi-state terror crackdown indicated that nuke facilities were on the radar of terror suspects. The alert came after the Karnataka terror probe was widened and Anti-Terror Squads (ATS) arrested four suspects in Nanded in Maharashtra and one in Hyderabad. Confirming the move CISF official said that a general alert has been given to the CISF teams. Our correspondent reports that CISF has been given the responsibility of security of about a dozen nuclear installations in the country.

The Home Ministry had confirmed yesterday that the Karnataka terror suspects had a defence establishment and a Nuclear installation on their radar. The Kaiga Atomoic Power Station in Karnataka was the first to raise its security.
