In Uttar Pradesh, the government has decided to take photographs of all new undertrial jail inmates for the records and reference to the courts and jails. Quoting official sources our Allahabad correspondent reports that initially photography will be done to the under trials appearing before the court for remand through video conferencing. Lucknow district has been selected to implement the pilot Project.Forensic Science Laboratory has been assigned to conduct the photography with the help of department of law. The government has sanctioned the posts of qualifies photographers for recruitment and sufficient amount to purchase the essential equipments.
