Government says, all measure are in place to contain the dengue cases in the national capital. Briefing reporters in New Delhi, the Union Health Secretary K. Sujatha Rao said, intense and rigorous vector control measures are being taken by the civic bodies with support from the central institutions to contain dengue. She said, fogging operations have been intensified around the commonwealth Games sites and there is no threat to the games. Ms Rao said, adequate quantities of platelets are available at 40 hospitals of Delhi to fight the disease. She stressed the need for support of the community and social mobilization by involving schools, resident welfare association and others to tackle the situation. Replying to a question on travel advisory by some countries following dengue cases, Ms Rao termed it unfortunate, saying the disease is not endemic as such cases also occur in those countries.
