Union Minister for Labour Bandaru Dattatreya has said that by 2020, all labourers in the organised sector will be provided with housing and the scheme will be implemented in a phased manner across the country. Mr. Dattatreya said the Union government will fulfill all the promises made to Andhra Pradesh including the Polavaram project which is a priority for the Centre. He participated in the Tiranga Yatra which began at Swami Vivekananda statue at Kambala Tank and culminated at Freedom Park in Rajamahendravaram in East Godavari district yesterday and paid rich tributes to Durgabai Deshmukh and other women freedom fighters. <br/><br/>He called upon young women to emulate Durgabai Deshmukh to fight social evils. He reminded that the Centre is giving special attention to Andhra Pradesh and has allocated 1.70 lakh crore rupees to the State in the 14th Finance Commission.<br/><br/>The Centre, he said, has allocated 1000 crore rupees in the last couple of years to the State under National Disaster Assistance Fund and is ready to construct a 500-bedded ESI hospital in Visakhapatnam at a cost of 1500 crore rupees, adding that his Ministry would construct ESI hospitals in Vizianagaram, Paidibhimavaram, Vijayawada, Tirupati and Adoni and develop Rajamahendravaram ESI hospital. He said 3,000 crore rupees would be spent for the construction of new ESI hospitals and upgrading the existing ones.<br/><br/>Mr. Dattatreya said that in view of the energy requirements of backward Rayalaseema region, the Union government has allocated a 4000 mega-watt solar power project to Kadapa. He also recalled that AIIMS has been sanctioned at Mangalagiri in Guntur district at a cost of 1600 crore rupees.
