All issues can be solved through people's participation, innovation, technology: PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that all the issues confronting the nation can be solved through people's participation, innovation and technology. <br/><br/>Addressing the participants of Smart India Hackathon through video conferencing, Mr Modi said, the true essence of democracy is public participation. <br/><br/>He said, there is a need to use technology more and innovate more as people are living in a technology driven era. The Prime Minister said, a series of issues have been placed before the youth to work on in this hackathon. <br/><br/>He said, the issues are challenging but it is also an opportunity for them. Mr Modi said, India is a youthful nation and the youth of the country is blessed with phenomenal energy which will bring very good results for the nation. <br/>'<br/><br/>The Prime Minister said, technology and innovation are powering so many changes and things like floppies, tape recorders and walkmen have become things of past. He said, technology has made things much simpler. <br/>'<br/>Mr Modi mentioned about Start-Up India and MUDRA scheme which is promoting entrepreneurship and innovation. He also said that the country is moving towards cashless economy through technology. <br/>'<br/>Prime Minister said, when the youngsters are innovating they should remember that quality is key. He said, good quality products will bring changes in the lives of many people. Mr Modi said, while innovating the youngsters may face setbacks but it should not lower the morale or dampen the spirits.<br/>'<br/>He said, application and sharpening of knowledge translates into skills. He said, both skills and knowledge are important. Mr Modi also interacted with students from several centres across the country who are participating in the Hackathon. <br/>'<br/>Engineering students from across the country are participating in the 36-hour non-stop digital product development competition. For the first time twenty-nine departments under various ministries presented 598 problem for students seeking innovative solutions. Ten thousand students participated in the grand finale. <br/>
