All India Radio Thiruvananthapuram celebrates 60th year of broadcasting

All India Radio Thiruvananthapuram station is celebrating the 60th year of broadcasting on Friday. Established in 1943 as Travancore Radio, the station became part of All India Radio network in April 1950. <br/> <br/>Nurturing the motto of Bahujan Hithaya Bahujan Sukhaya, All India Radio broadcast in Malayalam has crossed sixty years of glorious service. Radio broadcast started in Kerala as Travancore Broadcasting Station on 12th March 1943. <br/> <br/>Despite the explosive growth of print and visual media in the state, AIR continues to enjoy the unique place as public broadcaster. At present, with eight stations AIR broadcast reach almost hundred per cent of the population of Kerala. <br/>
