All India Radio, EBU organized special live Intercontinental bird song to celebrate International Dawn Chorus Day

All India Radio in collaboration with European Broadcasting Union today organized a special live Intercontinental bird song to celebrate International Dawn Chorus Day. The day is celebrated worldwide on first Sunday of May every year to appreciate the primordial symphony of nature.<br/> <br/>The Dawn Chorus is the collective sound of birds singing at the start of a new day. All India Radio through its External Services Division joined hands with Ireland's RTE Radio, the European Broadcasting Union, Bird Life International to bring live the vibrant dawn chorus of bird from Soor Sarovar Bird Sanctuary Agra and 13 other European countries to celebrate it. This special programme was broadcast on the Rajadhani and FM Rainbow channels of All India Radio from 4.30 AM to 10.30 AM.<br/> <br/>The intercontinental Ornitho Serenade where birds of Europe and India sing together, was world's most impressive and renowned natural concert and symphony. This is first ever attempt by All India Radio to team up with other international broadcasters in such a large scale.
