All help to Haryana for development of ‘Murrah’: Sharad Pawar

Union Agriculture Minister, Mr Sharad Pawar today assured all help to Haryana for development of ‘Murrah’ breed of buffaloes. He said that there is a need to ensure that ‘Murrah’ buffaloes reach every village in the country so that farmers get new avenues of employment and children get nutritious milk. Union Minister was speaking at the launching of doorstep livestock breeding services and distribution of incentive money to owners of elite ‘Murrah’ in Jind today, where first of its kind ‘Murrah on Ramp’ function was also organized to highlight the ‘Murrah’ breed. While describing ‘Murrah’ buffaloes as an asset of Haryana, Mr Sharad Pawar said there is a need to further improve the prices of agriculture production so as to bring more prosperity to the farmers. He said that although 80 per cent of the population in the country is dependent on agriculture, yet adequate arrangement of supply of irrigation water is not available for 60 to 80 per cent farmers. Haryana Chief Minister also spoke on the occasion.
