All four accused held guilty in Aman Kachroo ragging case

In Aman Kachroo ragging case, a fast track court at Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh today convicted four medical students of culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The court held that 19-year-old Aman Kachroo was ragged to death by the four students at the Rajendra Prasad Medical College and Hospital in Tanda last year.The quantum of sentence is expected to be pronounced later in the day after the fast track court hears arguments of the Defence and the Prosecution. The offences for which the four students were held guilty are punishable with a maximum of a 10-year jail term.Aman succumbed to injuries in March 2009 after being allegedly ragged by final year students.The father of Aman Kachroo Mr. Rajender Kachru has expressed his satisfaction over the verdict but he also said that his mission will only be completed if the ragging is eradicated fully from the country.
