Indian challenge at the Yonex All England Open Badminton Championships has ended with the defeat of Saina Nehwal in the women's singles quarter final match in Birmingham today. China's Xuerui Li beat Saina Nehwal 21-13, 23-21 in quarters clash. Earlier, China's Qing Tian and Yunlei Zhao quelled the Indian challenge of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa 21-10, 21-15 in the women's doubles second round. Late on Wednesday night, men's singles shuttlers Parupalli Kashyap and Ajay Jayaram, the women's singles qualifier P.V.Sindhu and men's doubles team of Rupesh Kumar and Sanave Thomas crashed out of the tournament. The pair of V.Diju and Jwala Gutta also failed to get past the first round in the mixed doubles.
