All England Open Badminton: Sindhu, Saina to play their quarterfinals matches of women's singles

Rio Olympics Silver medalist PV Sindhu will clash with the winner of the match between World No 1 Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei and Japan's Minatsu Mitani in the quarterfinals of women's singles of All England Open Badminton Championship in Birmingham today. In another quarterfinal match, London Olympics bronze medalist Saina Nehwal, will take on the winner of the match between third seed Sung Ji Hyun of Korea and Yip Pui Yin of Hong Kong. In the event of both Sindhu and Saina win their respective quarterfinal matches, they will face each other in a mouth-watering clash in the semifinals. In the pre-quarterfinals yesterday, Ace Indian shuttlers P V Sindhu Sindhu dished out a dominating game to defeat Indonesia's Dinar Dyah Ayustine 21-12, 21-4 in just 30 minutes. In another match Saina Nehwal stormed into quarterfinal game defeating Germany's Fabienne Deprez 21-18, 21-10 in 5 minutes. However in the men's singles, H S Prannoy suffered a 13-21, 5-21 loss to seventh seeded Chinese Tian Houwei in 33 minutes to crash out of the tournament.
