Scientific Advisor to the Defence Minister, Dr. V K Sarswat has said that, all electronic air warfare system would be indigenous in future. Addressing the Golden Jubilee Celebrations at the Defence Electronic and Research Laboratory-DLRL in Hyderabad yesterday, Dr Saraswat said the Government has taken a policy decision to this affect. Emphasizing the need to prepare for the future requirements of the country, he called upon the Defence scientists to get more and more indigenous critical electronic air warfare system into the Indian Armed Forces. Dr Sarswat is also the Secretary Defence Research and Development and Director General of DRDO. Appreciating the progress made during the past 50 years, he said the DLRL contributed up to 20% of the product value of the DRDO that is 1 lakh 60 thousand crore rupees, in the last decade. He assured that the DRDO will continue supporting the DLRL to keep it ahead in the strategic field.
