<span style="color: #222222;">In Punjab, the polling for General Elections of eight Municipal Corporations and 109 Municipal Councils and Municipal Panchayats will start tomorrow at 8 a.m. and continue till 4 p.m. AIR correspondent reports, all the arrangements have been put in place by the Administration.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Official Spokesman of the Commission apprised that 30 IAS/PCS officers have been deputed as Observers to conduct free and fair elections. Apart from this IG/DIG level police officers have also been appointed as Police Observers. He said that Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will be used for polling and seven thousand EVMs have been arranged for the purpose. He informed that the Commission has appointed 20,510 employees and deployed around 19 thousand police personnel to conduct the elections.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Spokesman said, 9,222 candidates are in fray for 2,302 wards. He said, the Commission has set up 4,102 Polling Stations for these elections, out of which 1,708 stations declared as Sensitive and 161 as Hyper Sensitive.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Spokesman made it clear that every voter, who enters in Polling Station before 4 p.m., will be allowed to exercise his or her vote. State Election Commission has also announced 14th to 17th of February as Dry Days. Counting of votes will be taken up on 17th of February.</span>
