All arrangements in place for voting in 5th Phase LS polls in 121 constituencies spread over 12 States and 77 Assembly segments in Odisha

All arrangements are in place for tomorrow's fifth phase of Lok Sabha polls in 121 Constituencies spread over 12 States and 77 Assembly segments in Odisha. The Lok Sabha Constituencies include all 28 seats in Karnataka, 20 in Rajasthan, 19 in Maharashtra, 11 each in Uttar Pradesh and Odisha, 10 in Madhya Pradesh, seven in Bihar and six in Jharkhand.

In Naxal affected areas in seven Assembly segments in Bihar special security arrangements have been made to ensure peaceful voting. Polling in these segments in Munger, Lakhisarai, Jehanabad and rural areas in Patliputra parliamentary constituency will end at 4 P.M.

Extra vigiol is being kept by district administration in Hassan district of Karnataka at 17 polling stations identified as vulnerable to elephant attacks in Alur and Sakaleshpur constituencies. Forest department officials have been deputed on duty along with poll staff in the wake of elephant menace.

Two teams with tranquilizer guns and cages have also been deployed in areas where leopards have often been spotted.
