In Andhra Pradesh, all arrangements are in place for conducting general elections in the state. Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal told AIR correspondent that security has been doubled compared to the previous elections in 2009. He said the Centre has sanctioned 382 companies of central forces. In addition, more than one lakh state police forces will be deployed at polling stations.

The CEO said 18 per cent of the polling stations out of over 69 thousand have been identified as critical or hyper critical and webcasting is being arranged in 45 thousand polling stations.

Notification for the first phase general elections in the state will be issued on Wednesday.
