All arrangements complete for third phase of Bihar Assembly elections

All arrangements have been completed for the third phase of the Assembly elections to be held in 48 constituencies spread over six districts in Bihar on Thursday. Patepur, Balmikinagar and Ramnagar Assembly constituencies are Naxal infested. The Election Commission has strictly instructed polling parties to go polling stations with security forces in view of security reasons. The Director General of Police said an elaborate security arrangements have been made to ensure free and fair polls. He said satellite phones are being used to monitor the Naxal activities. AIR Patna correspondent reports that the third phase of polling is considered as a litmus test for the RJD-LJP combine. Meanwhile, notification for the sixth and final phase of Assembly elections is to be issued today.
