In Jammu and Kashmir, all the three terrorists involved in the twin terror attacks in Kathua and Samba districts have been killed. Two militants were killed in morning while the third one was eliminated this evening after a daylong operation in Samba Army Camp.

Earlier, eight people including a Lt. Colonel of Army were killed in the two terror attacks. Three army Jawans have also been injured in the attacks. In the first incident, the militants attacked Hiranagar Police Station in Kathua killing six people.

They included four policemen and two civilians. The same group of militants later targetted an Army Camp in nearby Samba district, killing two army men including a Lt. Colonel.

The three heavily armed terrorists, who were holed up in the Army camp at Samba for several hours, are said to have sneaked to this side from across the border. They barged into the Army camp where they were killed after fierce gun battle. Huge quantity of arms and ammunition has been recovered from the slain militants. Lt Col Bikramjeet Singh, the second-in-command of the unit stationed at the Camp, was among the martyred security personnel. According to Police, the terrorists had boarded an auto at gun point from the village Jhandi which is barely one km away from the International Border. High alert has been sounded in the entire Jammu region in view of the terror strike.
