Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thaawarchand Gehlot has said that there is a need to promote the products under the make in India initiative. <br/><br/>He was speaking on the occasion of transfer technology and consultancy services agreement between Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) and UK based Motivation Charitable trust. <br/><br/>Through the agreement, technology transfer will enable ALIMCO to produce cost effective and affordable wheel chairs in partner with UK based Motivation Charitable trust.<br/><br/>Mr. Gehlot said the agreement goes a long way in addressing the concerns of Divyaang from the poor sections, who needs a customized wheel chair in rural areas. He said that the MoU is directed at lessening the dependency of import of the products from China.<br/><br/>ALIMCO, CMD, DR Sarin, who signed the MoU, said there is a demand for 65,000 wheel chairs for Divyaang in the country. He also added that the active wheel chairs would be manufactured customized to fit the occupants and their needs according to WHO guidelines.<br/>
