In the other semifinal, the seventh seed Alcaraz shocked world number one Novak Djokovic in a three-set thriller. 19-year-old Spaniard Alcaraz becomes the first player to beat 21-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal and 20-time major winner Djokovic on consecutive days on a clay court.
In Women's Singles, World No. 10 Ons Jabeur of Tunisia clinched her historic Madrid open title after beating American Jessica Pegula. She is the first-ever Arab player to win a WTA title.
