In Iraq, the coalition led by former Prime Minister Ayad Alawi has, for the first time, taken a narrow lead in the country's parliamentary elections.<br/><br/>According to Al-Jazeera, eighty per cent of the ballots have been counted amounting to some twelve million votes and Alwai's lead is estimated at just nine thousand.
