Alastair Cook has become England's highest-ever run-scorer in Test cricket. He broke the record of Graham Gooch yesterday on Day 2 of the second Test against New Zealand at Headingley. The 30-year-old left-handed opener over took Gooch's record of 8,900 Test runs when he square-drove Tim Southee for four that gave him the score of 32.At stumps on Day 2, England were 253 for 5, in reply to New Zealand's first innings score of 350. Hosts England had won the first Test by 124 runs.
