Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has said that farmers should not be forced to vacate their land for development projects. Speaking at a function in Lucknow, he said, land acquisition should be done with the consent followed by adequate compensation and rehabilitation of affected family in job. Mr. Yadav said that though the state government has a plan to link Lucknow with Delhi, by constructing of a new road, no land will be accqured for this project without the consent of the farmers. He also promised to improve the electricity supply in the state. The Chief Minister said, his government has blacklisted companies, which supplied poor quality transformers and in future also action would be taken against those supplying defective equipment.
