Information and Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu and his junior cabinet colleague Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore today presented Akashwani Annual Awards for the years 2014 and 2015 at a function in New Delhi. The awards were presented to AIR personnel for their commendable performances in programme production, news, management and audience research among others.<br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion , Mr. Naidu described All India Radio as a great organization and said it is the world's largest public service broadcaster. He said, AIR is continuing its traditions with innovative programmes and people have great faith in this organization. <br/><br/>The Minister also said media is free in the country and there is no gag on it. <br/><br/>Currently, AIR broadcasts programmes in 23 languages in various formats such as news, interviews, talks and music through its network of 421 broadcasting centres. <br/><br/>
