The Akashvani Annual awards for 2010 were given away at a function in Mumbai Tuesday evening. The Best Correspondent award was conferred on K.K. Lal, AIR Correspondent, Patna. The Bold and Courageous Reporting award was bagged by M.A. Tantray, AIR, Srinagar Correspondent. Best News Editor of the year award went to Rajendra Chugh of AIR, New Delhi and Best Regional News Unit award to RNU, Jaipur.

The Best Radio play award was given for Jungali Booti, a Hindi Play produced by Central Drama unit, Delhi. AIR, Gorakhpur bagged the best Radio Documentary award for 'Rajeev Sir Kee Class'. AIR, Cuttack and AIR Bareilly bagged jointly the Lassa Kaul award for National integration for producing 'Manachitra Tume Katha Kuha' in Odiya and 'Shanti March' in Hindi, respectively. AIR Bangalore won the best production prize 'For Your Attention Please'. AIR, Keonjhar won the best maintained difficult station award and HPT, AIR, Avadi clinched the best maintained major station award.

All India Radio will broadcast a composite programme on Wednesday on the award giving function from 10 p.m. to 11.30 p.m. It will be available on National and FM Gold network.
