In Punjab, Shiromani Akali Dal has expressed its commitment to infrastructure development and compulsory IT education for the people of Punjab. In its poll manifesto released in Ludhiana today, party has promised laptops to higher secondary students in the state. Releasing the manifesto party President ,Sukhbir Singh Badal said that Ludhiana would be made automobile ,hand tools and housiery hub of the country. He promised that Malwa region of the state would become textile hub, Jalandhar to be developed as sports capital of India. Promising facilities in the infrastructure sector he said that in future Punjab will become number one state for industry as state is going to be power surplus.Promising governance reforms Sukhbir Singh Badal said that peaceful industrial relations would be created and inspector raj will be abolished. In the manifesto ruling party chief supported strong Lok Pal and zero tolerance to corruption. Ten lakh youth have been promised jobs in coming five years. With a promise of better road network ruling party has also promised air condition bus stands and buses in the country. A war against cancer has also been promised in the manifesto. Congress has already released its manifesto, Peoples Party of Punjab has released its 100 day programme while CPI(M) has also issued its programme.
