Akal Takht on Monday approved the amended Nanakshahi Calendar and directed Sikh community to observe the religious functions as per the new amended calendar. The new Nanakshahi calendar would commenced form March 14. <br/><br/>Giani Gurbachan Singh, Jathedar Akal Takht informed media that the Akal Takht approved the suggestions made by the executive committee of Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) for the changes in the Nanakshahi Calendar. He said that the amended calendar would be implemented from March 14, 2010.
