The Rashtriya Lok Dal Chief Ajit Singh has been inducted into the Union Cabinet. This is the third expansion of the Union Cabinet in the second term of the UPA government.

The President Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil administered the oath of office and secrecy to him at a brief function at Rashtrapati Bhawan this morning.

The 72 year old Ajit Singh has recently joined the UPA government. With his induction into the Cabinet its stength has gone upto 33.

The Vice President, the Prime Minister Union Ministers besides the Congress President Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
