Ajit Singh seeks AI unions support to restore airline's financial health

Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh today sought support of all Air India unions to restore airline's financial health and its past glory.
In a meeting with leaders of recognised Air India unions, Mr Singh said the recommendations of the Dharmadhikari Committee, which went into all issues like pay parity and career progression, would be implemented only after all the unions are consulted. He was talking to reporters after the meeting in New Delhi this evening.

Pradeep Dhobley, General Secretary of AI Engineers' Association, told reporters after the talks that the unions jointly urged the minister to come out with a compromise formula so all the sacked pilots would be reinstated.

The Indian Pilots Guild, which has been dercognised in the wake of the current agitation, was not invited for the meeting.

Even as government held talks with the recognised unions, two more striking Air India pilots returned to work today .With this the number of pilots who have joined the duty has gone up to five as the agitation entered on the 14th day today.
