The Indian Olympic Association, IOA named former hockey captain Ajitpal Singh as Chef-de-Mission of national contingent for the London Olympics.Three time Olympian Ajitpal, who led the country to its only victory in the World cup in 1975 so far, is the first active sports person to be honoured by being appointed as Chef-de-Mission of the Olympic contingent.Making this announcement in New Delhi on Monday, the IOA acting president Vijay Kumar Malhotra said senior vice-presidents Tarlochan Singh and BP Baisaya will be the IOA's delegates for the Games.He said he was confident that Ajitpal will live up to the high expectations, and will be a true ambassador of the country.
