<span style="color: #222222;">Regional News Unit (RNU) of All India Radio Jammu is celebrating its 49th Foundation Day today.<br />'' <br />'' The news unit was set up in 1971 to counter the malicious propaganda dished out by Pakistan Radio to make people aware of the ground realities about the 1971 Indo-Pak war.<br />'' <br />'' Started with one Dogri bulletin, the Jammu News unit of All India Radio has made rapid strides and presently Five Bulletins- 3 Dogri and 2 Gojri – are broadcast from Jammu.<br />'' <br />'' Apart from this counter-propaganda commentary, FM Headlines and various current affairs programmes are being produced by RNU Jammu.<br />'' <br />'' The News Unit is the only source of information to people living in remote, far-flung and border areas of Jammu Division.<br />'' <br />''<br />''The unit produces numerous daily, weekly and monthly programmes based on current affairs, Social issues, various events, festivals etc keeping in view their need and importance.</span><br />
