Delhi Airport Metro high-speed corridor will resume services in two months after necessary repairs. Breifing newsmen in New Delhi, Urban Development Secretary Sudhir Krishna said, the operator of the Line – the Reliance Infrastructure – had reported that there are some defects in the civil structure of the Metro track. He said the firm has insisted the operations should be suspended till the repairs works are done as it involves safety of passengers. He said, the metro line will be functional and resume services by the the end of August.A committee comprising officials from the Indian Railways, Delhi Metro and Reliance Infrastructure is already looking into the nature of defects and they will submit a reportwithin the next 10 days. Repairs will be carried out later. CEO of Infrastructure of Reliance Infra, Sumit Banerjee admitted that the corridor is not making profits, but they will continue to run the Line and will not close down. He said the decision is purely linked with safety aspects.
